What is a Domain Validation (DV) SSL certificate?
DV - domain validation. This is the most affordable solution. The certificate authority will verify you have control over the domain. This ranges from you putting a file on your website or sometimes an email to the WHOIS contact. We'll guide you through this when you buy an SSL certificate from allthe.domains.
DV certificates only cover www.example.com and example.com which is fine for most people, say if you've got a blog.
If you're wanting to have a number of subdomains, such as about.example.com, then you'll need to look at Wildcard SSL certificates.
